idealist start-up meeting
I hosted a start-up meeting as part of idealist.org’s initiative to imagine a better world. The challenge is to connect people with great ideas and resources, and to create new opportunites for collaboration.

Nice Paris! What specific things are you planning to do though to bring about collaboration? I like that in the video you taled about making it develop into real world meetings. That seems really important.
When you say its a start up, are you planning on forming your own non-profit?
Thanks Aaron! I was doing this so that I could work on idealist’s initiative to get people together… essentially they wanted to get people involved to do things within their communities, and set a date: go, host meetings, we will help out, start a community!
I am doing my thesis on creating a web portal that helps iranian educators come abroad to speak at conferences, and brings people from around the world to iran to share their particular area of expertise. That way people can connect with each other themselves! It is not a non-profit–it is simply a portal.
